John Goras received his MFA from School of Visual Arts and his BFA from Syracuse University. His films and videos have been screened at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the Netherlands, The San Francisco Independent Film Festival, and Z Film Festival in London, among many others. His film Chirpy won the Best Animation award in 2002 at the 9th New York Underground Film Festival at Anthology Film Archives in New York and was included in Spike and Mike’s Festival of Sick and Twisted Animation in 2006. Chirpy was banned from a 2002 screening in the UK because it was deemed obscene by the Westminster Council. His work has been reviewed in The Village Voice, indieWIRE, artblog and The Orlando Weekly and appeared in the independent film Horror Business.
